Well if Informix CLI is an ODBC implementation or not, why this would matter?, as i can see, ODBC was developed to allow a programmer the construction of a database independent program. If you choose informix cli, you could use the ODBC 2.0 on it, or the native implementation (which i guess should call isqlexecd on port 1525?). I would prefer to use the native implementation, because if i chose cli, what should i do if i only have a Informix ODBC driver. Also, i would like to know if my port 1525 theory? is true, does any of you had ever made a client to call informix on port 1525 using standard sockets, i think this would work. After the usual socket handshake, you could send sql commands into the sqlexecd (daemon)?, this is the way it works, if it is, why should i need informix cli? Any comment will be apreciated, please send a mail to carenas@usa.net, also, so i will check for it faster.
