Connecting to Informix-Link?

I was recently looking around the TechInfo area on www.informix.com, trying to find AlphaServer ports, but they have the list organized by the date they completed it, which isn't helpful. I had heard that the bug database, similarly difficult to use on the web, was easier in the modem-accessed InformixLink. (Can anybody confirm this?) In any event, I don't seem to be able to get in. I can get as far as hitting the "hh" to get the modems to sync (wierd!), and I get the "U#=" prompt (which I have to use with 8-bit words instead of the 7 they say to use in the manual), but when I log in, I get a "user validation fault".
