pid in onstat -g ses

I have one application that always shows up with a pid of -1 in onstat -g
ses. It is an EDI application from Inovis. These are all tcp/ip connections
to the server.
Does anyone know exactly how the server determines the pid if the process is
started from another machine? Is it passed in the connection request from
the client? If so, is there some way to reject connections if the pid is
not specified?
This has become a problem because this EDI application is a real resource
hog. I had a session today that was up to 760MB of memory and I didn't know
which process to kill on the client machine. I finally had to kill every
process associated with the application.

Bill

If the pid can't be determined then it will be set to -1. What you
should be able to do is relate the onstat -g ntt to the ps -ef on
the client machine (it's not 100% accurate but should be close enough).
If the client host doesn't resolve then the ip will be displayed
in the onstat -i instead, it's in hex
