The machine specific release notes detail the correct shared memory address for the platform. You obviously have it right, but the original posting looks highly suspect. I would check the $INFORMIXDIR/release/?en_us?/*/<machine specific notes> for the correct parameters for the platform >SHMVIRTSIZE 8000 c initial virtual shared memory segment >SHMADD 4096 c Size of new shared memory segments (Kbyte) >SHMTOTAL 0 c Total shared memory (Kbytes). 0=>unlimited >Hope this will help you.
