Under 7.12 the default is static libraries, but has changed to dynamic linking under 7.22, and a new env var had to be set. The 2 solutions I found were: 1. Add "-static" to compile line 2. Add export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$INFORMIXDIR/lib:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql:/usr/liband recompile with this env var set. Option 1 produces very bloated binaries, option 2 much better, but the first user in has a performance hit when the library is initially loaded.
