Similarly just because a company *doesn't* include the label "BASIC" onto their programming language doesn't mean that it is good. JYACC (JAM7), Compuware (Uniface), and Informix (4GL) label their languages as '4GL', so that's what people call them. That doesn't mean they're great languages, and share nothing in common with modern BASICs. Informix-4GL includes (as I mentioned earlier) LETs, INPUTs, RETURNs and GOTOs - all very traditional BASIC commands. Informix-4GL is a good language, but if it had been called Informix-BASIC I bet it would be well-slagged off at this point. Amazing what a bit of marketing will do :-) I'll be quiet now.
