OK; which version of I4GL are you using? Hint: it is 4.11 or earlier. 4.12 and all later versions simply do not, under any circumstances, produce the -4518 error message. I know; I fixed the code and removed the only point in the product where the error message was generated. The same fix also eliminated -4517 as an error, too. > > I've checked this with other computers and the same configuration > > runs OK! The same version of I4GL? The new code might, conceivably, run out of memory eventually, but that would produce an altogether different message (-4453?) and is pretty improbable. > > This machine was installed urgently and I think there is no > > sufficient swap space (I used to install three times the RAM > > space) and this machine's swap space is less than the RAM space. This is a pure software limit; upgrade to a current version. 4.11 was released in 1993; 4.10 in 1990 or 1989. They're ancient. The current versions are 4.20 and 7.20; 7.30 will be released soon. > > Folks, you'll be > > thinking "What is this guy doing!" Must I reinstall all the system? No, just upgrade your I4GL. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>
