For starters try partitioning the application differently. Take the 15 selects and put them in an SPL. The stored procedure will reside on the server and should reduce query times. There are other benifits as well. You can have a higher level of security by granting permissions in various ways on the stored procedure. Another benifit is reduced network traffic since the client starts the procedure and waits for the final answer as opposed to getting the result of each select sent back accross the network then sending the next select. Hope that all made sense. Good luck. oh@contact.de (Olaf Hillrichs) wrote: > > >The whole story in english: > >Informix Client-Server Installation, SGI IRIX 5.2 >Components: ONLINE 5.01.UD2 > I-STAR TCP/IP 5.01.UD2 (Server) > I-NET TCP/IP 5.01.UD2 (Client) >Problem: > >The performance is ok when we're working direct on the server. >Starting a query with multiple 'selects' on the client let's me wait a long >time for the answer.
