Re: Informix 7.2 does not support backups on Solaris 2.5!!!!!

I can understand why you have the complaint. I believe Informix backup utilities are the worst part of Online. There are many bugs I personnally reported and have never been resolved. However, I believe it is fair to say "most of the time" the backup utilities work. We have 10 Informix 7.2 running on Solaris 2.5 for a long time (a year?), and we have scheduled full backup and incremental backup every week. In the past, we did exprience many crisis such as hard disk crashes, SCSI errors, ... etc. We were able to recover from tapes almost every single time. I guess we are probably lucky.
