Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi. Any help or insight into the problem is appreciated. So, if you know
information which may help in resolving it, please send me a mail.
I am getting error message which is like this:
Error -406 occurred on PREPARE dbprocid8
err_handler: Memory allocation failed.
This error message comes when I PREPARE a select statement which is:
select count(*) from systables where systables.tabname='StateTable' and
systables.owner='ssomar';
The above select statement is for finding out if the 'StateTable' exists
or not. Then I have a OPEN CURSOR and FETCH INTO statements, which
apparently is not even reached. The program quits at the PREPARE stmt
itself. Before that it calls the "err_handler" function and prints the
error message. All the CURSORS and statement ids are being freeed.
The object file is about 1.8M size. I am running the object file on
Sequent system (Unix) using Informix version 5.0. I tried the above
select in another .ec file and ran it without any problems. So, I am
assuming that the problem is something to do with memory.
Any input will be v. helpful. Thanks in advance.
Shyama.
