Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

I mean the last one. Running an update query ocurrs no problems.
In the meantime I checked out that the problem ocurrs with the following
configuration when I edit a row using the Access table editor:
Suse Linux 8.0 with Informix IDS 7.3.1 and Vmware 3.1.1 Build 1790
(hosting W98SE + Access 2000/no SP, ODBC driver 3.81.0000 2.80.TC1 /
3.82.0000 2.81.TC1)
Error: "A SERIAL column (a) may not be updated. (#-232)"
or:
Suse Linux 8.0 with Informix IDS 7.3.1 and Vmware 3.1.1 Build 1790
(hosting W2K + Access 2000/no SP, ODBC driver 3.81.0000 2.80.TC1 /
3.82.0000 2.81.TC1)
Error: Another user is editing the row!
Running Access and the ODBC driver on a pure W2K machine works fine.

Andreas
