A quicker way to do it is with offsets ie
dd if=/dev/rawdevice of=/dev/null bs=1024k count=1 iseek=200
If this works the chunk is bigger that 200mb. Keep trying higher iseek
values until you get an error and workout the size that way. It takes
on our system nearly 1 hour to read 2GB.
