Client/Sever and Transaction Processing

Could anyone help ? We are using Windows Hyperscript and SE V 5.0 on UNIX with Informix NET. We find that big transactions(Say updating several tables many tens of times) there is some limitations- speed and if the program fails and does not reach the rollback. The database is then left in a mess. Also should the PC client fail and the transaction rollback is not reached in the program, how does one recover from this. How should transaction handling be imlemented on client server ?? -- Syd Stewart
