Current "fillfactor"
Posted in 1999
Listers,
I'm wondering if anyone has devised a way to determine the
current "fillfactor" for a given index using the SMI tables.
I'm looking for something similar to the "Index Usage Report"
output from oncheck -pT. I'd like to be able to determine
which of my datetime, serial, or other ever-increasing
indices, which have become over-extented due to inserts,
are the best candidates for a rebuild. I'd prefer to use
sql against the SMI tables since oncheck can be slow for
our larger tables.
I've looked through the IIUG site and I couldn't find any
relevant information. Looking back through list archives
and contacting tech support were of little help as well.
Is this possible? Oncheck must be pulling the data from
somewhere, the question is, can I access it through the SMI
interface?
I'm running 7.31.UC2A against Solaris 2.6 & 2.7.
TIA.
