OK this is involved but here goes: 1) find the pid of the sqlturbo 2) run tbstat -u and find the address of the connection by finding the pid of the sqlturbo in the report. The addess is the hex value in the first column of the top part of the report 3) run tbstat -s and see if there are any processes holding latches, these processes are said to be in a "critical section" killing any of these will cause the engine to abort. 4) If the sqlturbo in question is in a critical section the only alternatives are to leave it alone or bring the engine down gracefully (tbmode -ky) otherwise: 5) First try to do this nicely: tbmode -z <pid>. If this does not work then: 6) (first make sure again that the process has not entered a critical section) kill -PIPE <pid>; kill -TERM <pid> If this fails the sqlturbo is probably hung in a system call and cannot be killed. Your only recourse is to reboot. Art S. Kagel
