VB guy using Informix (AbsolutePosition causes invalid procedure

I'm opening up a recordset in Informix (7.3) thru VB code as follows: Set rst = DB.OpenRecordset (strSQL, dbOpenSnapshot, dbSQLPassThrough) Once opening the set I can move around and access fields, however I cannot use the AbsolutePosition method which appears to be available to me. I need to be able to jump ahead records.
