Using 6.x tools with 5.x SE

We are shortly going to be upgrading our 4.x tools to 6.x, and our 5.x SE to 7.x Online. Our site has multiple databases - one mediumish, the others small, all important. From what I've gathered about ONLINE through reading the System Admin manual, it appears that there is a large, fairly constant, amount of intervention required to keep it going smoothly. To reduce my transition headaches, I was considering keeping both SE and ONLINE running and transiting to ONLINE, one database at a time, starting with the big one. I do not want to do the same for the tools, though. I'd be grateful if somebody can help me with the following:- 1. Can a 4gi compiled on 6.x tools work with 5.0 SE? 2. If so, if the 4gl is compiled using the 5.0 SE database, will it run on the ONLINE db? Or do I need to recompile? TIA. ---------------------- Rudy Fernandes GIC, Kuwait ----------------------
