Segemntation Fault

We recently ran some reports over a weekend, unfortunately 1. We ran out of disk space and 2. We started the reports before the backup completed. When we came back Monday morning our database would not work, it kept coming up with a segmentation fault. Does anyone know what a segmentation fault is !!. We a running informix SE 5.
