Yes.

Yes; in ${DBTEMP:-/tmp} (unless the docs say /usr/tmp or somewhere else is
the default).

It can be queried and unloaded inside the program which creates it, but not
in any other program -- it is completely private to the process which
creates it. Hence, if you mean 'INSERT, DELETE and UPDATE' as editing
operations, then yes; if you mean 'can I run vi on it', then no, not least
because you can't find out what the file name is.
