Look in the source code for sqlcmd, we got a html SQL marker upperer that only highlight SQL that passes our syntax checker. Right royal pain with V9!!! Hi all! Does anybody know, if there's a syntax checker for (Informix-)SQL (except from the build in), especially for SPL-Routines? What I'm searching for: UDR -> SyntaxChecker -> ok/nok What I did so far: I tried to let the Informix-Server decide, whether the syntax is ok, by sending the DDL-Statement "CREATE PROCEDURE ..." via JDBC to the server. The problem is, that Informix not only checks the syntax, but also, if User Defined Types (used in the procedure) are existent. I can see, that this check makes sense (when it comes to the syntax), because it depends (f. e.) on the type of an object, whether you can use the "."-operator or not, and if the type is not existent, the parser cannot tell, if the syntax is correct or not. Anyway, I need to switch off this check somehow, because at the time I want to do the syntax check, these types may not be available. Greetings Christian. BTW: Informix does not check, if any used table or column is existent.
