Control/C stops a query

All, While our application is querying the database, we allow our users to press control/c to abort the query. Most of the time it does stop the query. But sometimes it does not. What / when does it NOT stop the query? If there is latch? A "sensitive" part of the sqlturbo? During pre-processing of the query? TIA Steve Goldberg Landata RE-Source goldberg@sccsi.com
