Hi, I'm looking (badly) for a function/systable that retrun's the Informix Product name (i.e a string/column with something like "Informix SE"), I need it for finding out (during runtime) what Informix product I'm working against (Informix or Informix SE) this is for a program driver I've written... Thank you, Dotan.
Yes, try this query : select DBINFO( 'version', 'server-type' ) FROM systables where tabid=1; Regards, -- Jacques In article <3A6D7C84.7040609@attunity.co.il>, dotan <dotan@attunity.co.il> wrote: > Hi, > > I'm looking (badly) for a function/systable that retrun's the Informix > Product name (i.e a string/column with something like "Informix SE"), > I need it for finding out (during runtime) what Informix product I'm > working against (Informix or Informix SE) this is for a program driver > I've written... > > Thank you, > > Dotan. > > Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/

When you actually connect to a database, the SQLCA warnings convey a lot of information, including whether you are working with OnLine or SE, and have done this for a very long time. The information also includes whether the database has a transaction log - that tends to be quite important. > dotan <dotan@attunity.co.il> wrote: > > I'm looking (badly) for a function/systable that retrun's the Informix > > Product name (i.e a string/column with something like "Informix SE"), > > I need it for finding out (during runtime) what Informix product I'm > > working against (Informix or Informix SE) this is for a program driver > > I've written... -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
