Help! Kernel Parameters!

I was going through the set up in the existing system. HP-UX 10.2 and Informix 7.23 UC6. To my surprise I found along with our Unix Admin. that the swap related parameters recomended by Informix release notes is not being set up in the system. Anyhow, the system is up and running with crashes once in 15 days. Can anyone help me out what I should do if the swap related parameters are not set in the OS level ? Thanks Harinath
