delay closing database

Is there any way to improve this performance ? For instance, if I just have a file called q1.sql, and it has a simple query in it, and I do dbaccess databasename q1.sql, I'll see the results of the query, Then I'll see "Database Closed" Then I sometimes get a delay of up to a second, before I get my unix prompt back. I'm assuming that is the time it is taking for the dbaccess client to fully close it's connection to the server. Does anyone know of a way to improve that, or at least explain why the delay ? Is it an OS issue ? Any advice is appreciated.
