4GL beautifiers

Re - 4GL beautifiers Haven't got my 4GL beautifier and cross-referencer finished yet, but I did a little prog. that upshifts all reserved words (not including ONLINE ones yet, but it's dead easy to add them). 17KBytes, C code, nothing very clever but it seems to work okay. It's in C, rather than lex, for DOMES-DOS etc. (usually a lex-free-zone). It upshifts as many reserved words as I could find - it does a bunch of ESQL ones too, for example, since I found some stuff that was okay in the first c4gl compiler pass, but not in the later one(s). Usually use it to detect my more idiotic mistakes (e.g., naming a table "first" and then being unable to SELECT FROM it). Also means that you can touch-type in lower case (easy) and then pipe the 4GL code thru to get the normal format. Use something like !G in vi. If anybody wants a copy mail me. If I get lots of requests I'll post (haven't had a good flaming in ages !). If you've got something better, I'd be delighted to have a copy (hint, hint 8^) Cheers - Tony. PS. While I'm here, thanks to the EIUG guys. Some fine user group presentations. If you've got the option of going/joining, DO !! ____________________________________________________________________________ Who: Tony Heskett | DHL Systems Ltd, Kings House, How: theskett@lhr-sys.ssf-sys.dhl.com | Great West Road, Brentford, TW8 9HS Vox: (+44) 81 747 8330 x 363 | Fax: (+44) 81 747 0875
