HA (HDR) Configuration Parameter FAILOVER_CALLBACK
Posted in 2009
Topics: High Availability & Replication
The definition of this parameter (from the Admin Reference Manual, page 1-74) states: "The database server executes the script specified by FAILOVER_CALLBACK when a database server transitions from a secondary server to a primary or standard server. Set FAILOVER_CALLBACK to the full pathname of the script." While reviewing the various Redbooks and Informix documentation manuals, I have yet to come across any example scripts for this parameter. Has anyone seen or written any script(s) usable by this parameter? I would appreciate your posting what you have found/written. Thanks in advance. Using FAILOVER_CALLBACK, you can perform IO fencing (prevent writes fro= m failed server) in shared disk cluster environment. Set the FAILOVER_CALLBACK parameter to point to a script that calls the cluster= files system's IO fencing utility. IDS has a sample called $INFORMIXDIR/etc/ifx_failover_callback.sh - Nilesh - ids-bounces@iiug.org wrote on 10/27/2009 02:24:44 PM: > [image removed] > > HA (HDR) Configuration Parameter FAILOVER_CALLBACK [17784] > > Clifton Bean > > to: > > ids > > 10/27/2009 02:26 PM > > Sent by: > > ids-bounces@iiug.org > > Please respond to ids > > The definition of this parameter (from the Admin Reference Manual, pa= ge 1-74) > states: "The database server executes the script specified by > FAILOVER_CALLBACK when a database server transitions from a secondary= server > to a primary or standard server.
