Nothing like providing a useless link Christine! You should be more specific. I searched and wasted my time looking for Label-based access with your link, which has nothing to do with the discussion. "LBAC" is about all I could find related to "Label-based", and is about security, not about what we're talking about. Until somebody pushes out a different description, Record-locking is synonymous with row-locking, this is what the market thinks. You can argue all you want against that, but it's the market perception that will again drive people away from the product. Informix faces yet another intentional mis-perception of its features, and yet another uphill battle in the marketplace, thanks to the buffoonery at IBM. Remember the "embedded" label attached to IDS? Now it's only caught up to Sybase thanks to record locking! Informix is cursed, no other explanation.
