1. Have you set the SCO kernel parameters as stated in release notes ? 2. Try to update statistics for you database(s) in Workgroup Server for better performance. Octav, thank you for answering. It definitely had something to do with my kernel. The online.log file states I ran out of semaphores. Now when I read the installation notes, I did notice the kernel parameters. I tried at first to set these to the indicated values with scoadmin But 1) not all suggested kernel parameters were to be reached by scoadmin 2) the ones that were to be reached stated that I went out of the normal reach for these parameters (for example some were expected to be within 10 - 100 and had to be set to 8192.) After your remark I started digging into this and found mtune, stune and idtune in SCO5 so I could alter the Kernelparameters as required. Problem solved. Thanks. Performance stays behind, though. Performance gain by switching from SE to OWS is not evident, so it seems. Ralph
