HELP! Informix 5/Intergraph FRAMME Performance Trouble

Help!! I'm an ORACLE person, not an Informix person, and unfortunately my client is running an Informix RDBMS with Intergraph FRAMME front-end. They are experiencing very slow performance, requiring about 1.5 hours to extract a work set (about 1000 components). The first access is the fastest, performance decreases with each extract. Here's what they are running: CLIX 7.5 Intergraph box 6850 Informix 5.0 (across the board, Online, DBAccess, etc.) FRAMME 3.60.5 Client running Windows NT 3.5 Intergraph has looked at this, and is pointing to Informix, but is unable to say what to do to Informix to make it zippier. A sniffer was placed on the network, and the network is extremely under-utilized, running I believe at less than 20% capacity. I suspect it is either FRAMME Reference Server (FRS) or joins in the rulebase. Any ideas, suggestions, comments, are welcome.
