Re: Informix left standing

My immortal words: >> >>The Datablades offered by third party and Informix are a type of app are >>they not? John Carlson reply: >If you run the engine that supports them. I've always thought that the >DataBlades were only add-ons to the engine. HAH, I say: So the myriad Oracle apps that enrich Mcneely but do not run on a better engine such as Informix or DB2 are but puny add-ons by that logic. Yet you are correct, they are 'add-ons' to the engine. They may not be full applications but by creating 'objects' these things begin to resemble 'applications' as the methods and interfaces that are defined by the objects correspond to business rules, application logic, etc. I thinks the CEO of Informix says what he thinks the audience wants to hear at the time of his media events. But Informix still seems unable to sell a woodchipper to a serial killer from Brainerd.
