Re: configuring system DSN from command line Linux

Thanks Obnoxio. I think he's saying he is currently using an app with mysql and would like to configure it to run with Informix. Mostly on UNIX the DSN settings are kept in a file called .odbc.ini. This is usually put, or found, under the user's home directory, but sometimes it is put elsewhere and the path is put in the env var ODBCINI, depending on the driver manager used. If you can find it, you should be able to mimic the format of a DSN entry and create another. It's a flat file; so, there isn't really a standard script for editing it. Actually, this is the first I've heard of a GUI tool for DSNs on a UNIX style platform. A simple way of getting it right is to create a file DSN on Windows and copy the contents into the [myDSN] entry of the .odbc.ini. Luck, And please don't post here if you aren't using Informix. cg ruchitgarg@yahoo.com (ruchit garg) wrote in message news:<83c96c35.0310010339.4e61c349@posting.google.com>... > Hello, > > I have a linux software (runs on mysql) for which i need to configure > systemDSN and device driver. > > I have been configuring SystemDSN through ODBCConfig command, which is > a GUI based command.
