Grid testing issue

Hello, my friends. (I´m running 11.70.FC1 on 2 servers, both on linux_64 machines) It really seems to be a silly doubt, but here it is: Trying to test table creation inside a grid, using replicated data, I noticed that it is possible, since the databases over the two instances have the same name, otherwise I couldn´t.... 1) the grid feature demands that all the databases inside each instance has the same names? Or can I attach another server, with different database names, inside it? (I´ve searched and didn´t find anything that could enable this). I mean: can I create a grid using database A, on instance 1, with database B, on instance 2, C on instance 3... etc??? 2) grid enables user authorization, ok. But when I try to create a table on the "master node" (with the specific auth user on the grid), connected to the grid using ER_enable=1, must the two users have the same permissions (eg resource, or even dba) on the databases? I suppose so, am I right? I think those doubts were not explained on manuals, neither on the tutorials provided on Information Center, ok? Thanks, friends!
1) Database names must match. 2) Yes 3) Other permissions such as roles etc. can be propagated as a grid command. = From: "ALEXANDRE MARINI" <amarini@fazenda.ms.gov.br> = = To: ids@iiug.org = = Date: 03/22/2011 12:09 PM = = Subject: Grid testing issue [23169] = = Sent by: ids-bounces@iiug.org = = Hello, my friends.
