Most of the 'tables' in SYSMASTER are not real tables bu pseudotables which are views into shared memory. Since the ALTER INDEX... TO CLUSTER needs to sort the data this cannot work. The only real tables in sysmaster are the data dictionary tables (tabid < 90), the archive control tables (named arc_*), flags_text and sysaudit. Art S. Kagel
