Netters, I recommend that, if you have questions regarding the Informix product, contact someone *other* than a salesperson from a competing company. You can't trust them to post any *facts* regarding the Informix product, as they have a hidden agenda to sell their own product by trying to make Informix look bad. I don't know why these Oracle people keep at it. You'd think they'd understand we're wise to their stupid Oracle tricks by now. Well, give 'em an 'A' for plain, stubborn, persistence. *Sigh.* >> Thomas J Kyte <tkyte@us.oracle.com> writes: > >> Most of the things you >> have to consider for other servers like "How big to make my logs so my server >> doesn't die, How many locks do you think I might generate, How do I get row >> level locking from this page level locking system, How can I get correct >> (consistent) answers from my Server, How can I avoid blocking due to >> locks,...." and so on just >> aren't an issue with Oracle. >> >>>>> > >Is this the case with Oracle?
