I posted an answer to someone else's question on basically the same subject. Can't you get a better debugger than sdb? -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

Well, sdb is a pretty nasty piece of work, though in its defence, it is streets ahead of adb. I don't know whether there are commercial debuggers for SCO, but possibly. You should probably investigate the GNU Debugger, GDB. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a graphical front-end for it. On Solaris and (I think) some other machines, there is a basic command-line (non-graphical) debugger called dbx, and a GUI front-end called, enterprisingly, debugger. This is pretty good. -- Jonathan Leffler (jleffler@informix.com, jleffler@earthlink.net) Guardian of DBD::Informix v0.60 -- see http://www.perl.com/CPAN #include <disclaimer.h>

You should probably investigate the Green Hills, if they are still around, made compilers and an excellent graphical debugger that I am confident they ported to SCO. Data General has mxdb for their Intel based UNIX SystemV DGUX machines and they also sell SCO on some of these so they MAY have ported mxdb to SCO, mxdb is excellent also. > GNU Debugger, GDB. For SCO Unix, there is a debugger called "CodeView", written by Microsoft, interestingly enough. On Unixware we use the shipped debugger "debug" on commandline mode and also it is working on X. Debug needs *.c files, so we link the *.ec file to a corresponding *.c file in a sub-directory (.src.c) and set the default sourcepath for DEBUG to that path. Compiling with -g and than just debug it, on commandline or graphical mode! Also we use in that way cscope over *.ec files.
