On DEC Alpha 2100 Server on 200 MHz we are exporting database
from 4 disks of 2 GB (about 60% full) to disk (a bit less than 2GB of
pure data) in 4 to 5 hours.

Sorry, we have OnLine 7 (7.23 to be specific). Somehow I
didn't noticed that you are using OnLine 5.
