This VERY, VERY, VERY BAD ADVICE ! Please excuse the shouting, but I have much experience in this area and strong opinions on the subject. The AFCL is a total waste of time. It is too big, too cumbersome and too expensive at run time. It should NEVER be used for serious NewEra development. Informix themselves describe it as an "Extended Example". In a hot-flush of generosity (whilst still an employee of Informix and honor bound to tell a few lies to stay in a job) I once described the AFCL as being "over engineered". It's not, it's crap. At this point I should mention that my company make quite a nice living out of rescuing developers from the evil clutches of AFCL, so I don't say avoid the AFCL to win us more business - I say it to save the original poster considerable pain and suffering. Billy, this flame is, unfortunately, aimed at you - please don't take it the wrong way and I hate to disagree with someone who is such a great supporter of NewEra, but in this case your advice is unsound.
