DISPLAY Enviroment Variable

I'm a DBA not 4gl programmer, but anyway could sometime please tell me what is missing. I'm running a simple 4gl to check out our install. All it does is a DISPLAY statment. I get the following error: ERROR: Could not open display. Exiting.. Check a) server authorization and b) if DISPLAY environment variable is set I have Informix 7.12 engine with NewEra 1.01 UC2 for AIX 4.2 I would like a response ASAP on this.
