Hi Gang, I am newly thrust into the world of New Era development and am having some trouble with what I think should be a simple problem. I have a table like this: id serial name char(20) fkey1 integer fkey2 integer Where "id" is the primary key of the table and fkey1 and fkey2 are foreign keys into another table. For example, id2 serial text char(255) What I would like to see on the screen is: Name, Text (for fkey1), Text (for fkey2) My difficulty is in creating a superview which pulls in the text from both foreign keys and then displaying it on NewEra supertable. I can create the superview just fine, but NewEra (or maybe just my understanding of NewEra :-D ) doesn't seem to work properly when it comes time to insert things into the superview. The second table never seems to be updated. It seems that even though I want to use the same table twice in my join NewEra will not let me. Since it tries to join the tables such that fkey1 = id2 and fkey2 = id2 (which will never happen) nothing ever gets returned on a query. I would like to be able to qualify the table names but NewEra doesn't let me. Has anyone ever run into a similar problem or have any suggestions on how to work around this difficulty? I know I would appreciate it (and so would my boss :-D ) Thanks. Phil D. Dazed and confused at: pdo563@airmail.net
