IBM Informix v.15 is released
Posted in 2024
Carlton Doe announced that Informix 15 was released. Eric Vercelletto asked where to download it; Art Kagel said downloads were due on the usual IBM site, excluding Windows for a couple of weeks, and HQ was on HCL pages. Art guessed 12.10 end of support would be announced for around 2027 or 2028, as conjecture, and noted the v15 docs were online.

What does the release of Informix 15 say about the end-of-support date for Informix 12.10 ------------------------------ Scott Roberts ------------------------------
End-of-support for v12.10 has not yet been announced. Typically it is set for 2-3 years following the release of the second newer major version, so expect an announcement in the next couple of months that 12.10 is likely to go OOS towards the end of 2027 or 2028, but that's just conjecture based on history. It's IBM's call. Art ------------------------------ Art S. Kagel, President and Principal Consultant ASK Database Management Corp. www.askdbmgt.com ------------------------------

Eric: The downloads became available on Tuesday for all currently supported platforms except Windows (expected in a couple of weeks). HQ should also be available. You will find the IBM download link in Carlton's slide deck from the WAIUG meeting last week, which I believe Bruce will be uploading later today or tomorrow. In the meantime, you should be able to find HQ on the HCL download pages. Like Informix HQ is also now in sync between the two sources. Art ------------------------------ Art S.
