pull out drives

Hi everyone I am on HP 9000 series K200 with Online 7.11 We got new K460. I posted my message recently; BTW, network administrator just came in and wanted to know if he can take the drives from the old machine and put them in the new machne. I have never heard of that. All I know is to do archive/installation,restore or dbexport/installation/dbimport. Thanks in advance for your response thuc
