E.g. someone could delete a row that would have been part of your result set when you opened the cursor, but by the time you tried to fetch it it was gone. The #rows it thought it would return would not match what actually was returned. sqlca.sqlerrd[2] IS guaranteed to be set after a select once all the rows have been fetched. Of course,in that case you could junt count the rows yourself.
