The 4.14/6.02 I4GL release introduces TERMINATE REPORT to as an alternative to FINISH REPORT to handle report termination where the stop condition is detected outside the report. It also introduces EXIT REPORT to abort a report from inside the REPORT function. Read the release notes. Prior to the two cited versions, there is no reliable way of terminating a report. And note that under some circumstances, some output will appear even with TERMINATE REPORT or EXIT REPORT. Specifically, the report output destination is still opened on START REPORT, and if any output has been written to the pipe, the output is flushed when the pipe is closed. If enough output has been written by the report, of course, then some data will already have been flushed to the pipe. Yours, Jonathan Leffler (johnl@informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h>
