For example, we have an informix database that is heavily used. Once a day we want to extract a large number of records, perform a magical operation on them, and then put them back into the database. Most likely the "magical" processing will occur on a different machine. The "magical" processing would be best developed using some type of CASE or knowledge-based system tool although c++ or smalltalk would probably be feasible. (The informix database runs on SCO Unix.) Any suggestions about tools that will interface with informix nicely?? All ideas are welcomed! Thanks in advance. -- | Robert P.
