Dates

The recent discussion on DATES vs. integers reminds me that that I will soon (i.e. in the next 5 years) have to change the date format on those databases which use DBDATE=dmy2/. I presume that changing DBDATE merely changes the way dates are *displayed* and has no effect on the way they are stored.
