Hello fellows,
today I gave sysadmin and friends a second look.
I found this techarticle to be VERY helpful:
https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/data/library/techarticle/dm-0709simpson/
Still I miss some good rules of thumb for sizing the sysadmin
database. Anyone has some experience already?
And I have 1 question regarding sbspaces:
I did not find a way to do what -Ms does in
onspaces -c -S ... -Ms <size of metadata area>creating a sbspace.
When using the SQL API
EXECUTE FUNCTION admin ('create sbspace' ...) there are only4 parameters in the docs.
I searched thru ibm and did not find anything
equivalent for '-Ms' to size the metadata area.
Does anyone have any insights on this?

Not there yet!
You also cannot
- create temporary sbspaces (their is a create tempdbspace option for
temporary dbspaces!).
- set the buffering mode for sbspaces
- set the lock mode for sbspaces
- set the EXTENT SIZE,MIN_EXT_SIZE,NEXT_SIZE for an sbspace
via the sql admin API!

Dave what's your email address? The smooth1 seems no longer to be valid.

What are peoples experiences with IDS 10.00.FC10 and 11.50.FC4?
Is anyone using IDS 11 and Kerberos?
is anyone using IDS 11 and compresision or the repack/shrink options?
David.
