Find IP-Adress from ODBC-Client on Informix-Online (7.x)
Posted in 1999
Topics: Connectivity: ODBC / JDBC / .NET
In our WAN we have some Clients, they connect to our central Informix-Online
(on Digital Unix) with ODBC. If the Client is listed in the Hosts-Table on
the server, i can see the name of the host with the Syntax 'onstat -g
ses'(hostname). But if the client is not listed in the hosts, i can't get the
IP-Adress, where the (ODBC-)client is connecting from.
So, i am searching for a way to find out the IP-Adress of the ODBC-client, who
is connected to the Online-Server, but not listed in the hosts.
Can anyone help me ?!
P.S.: I don't serching for the UserName, all Clients take then same User !

Run netstat and grep for the port number/name that ODBC is using to
connect.

For NT and UNIX you can ping the host name and it will return the IP address
of the host.
