I get a TON of spam on my regular email, no doubt due in large part that my name is on the list. That is a different problem, tho. The spammers harvest the list for target names, but they cannot send to the list itself (generally). Sorry, Jack, but I for one really do NOT want to see the list go away in favor of newsgroup only. I cannot get access to news servers here at work (blocked by firewall), so the list is my only access to c.d.i. However, I am definitely NOT in favor of a list-only format, available only to IIUG members. C.d.i. started as a usenet newsgroup, and it should *stay* that way -- open to all!
