No, there's no problem with doing that. Just make sure to shutdown before changing the sqlhosts file and (less order critical) the onconfig file. Art S. Hi Dave, Art is correct, if you use UNIX or LINUX. If you are on Mircosoft do not even think about renaming the server ... nor chage domain ... not chage hostname ...
