Succinctly: No. There are some "creative" solutions in the FAQ (see my signature) but the best thing you could do is ring your local Informix office and ask them how it can be done. This is such a common requirement (and seems to have become a pet hate of mine) that *INFORMIX* need to provide a sensible solution -- not us!
